Nancy L. (Birnie) Leonard 80, of Whitman, passed away on December 2nd, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Leonard.
She was born and brought up in Brockton, daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Benton) Perry, a graduate of Brockton High School.
Nancy was a resident of Whitman for 45 years and was a nurse’s aide at the Embassy House in Brockton for 35 years.
She is survived by her children Lawrence Leonard of Randolph, Michael Leonard and his wife Rebecca of Wayland, Francine Burns and her husband William of Weymouth, her son-in-law Matthew Murphy also her grandchildren; Hunter, Mallory and Bryn Leonard, Madison, Ronan and Megan Burns. Her dear friends Pat B., Carol, Pat L. and Ann (the lunch ladies at George’s Café). She was also the mother of the late Laurie Murphy.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday December 7th at 11:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to her service from 10:00-11:00AM.
