Albert Charles Reed age 63 of Brockton, died peacefully December 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Denise S. (Houde) Reed. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, Al was the son of the late Albert and Shirley (Pleasance) Reed.
Al attended Brockton Schools and then served in the US Army 1973-1976 as a helicopter mechanic. Al worked for over 30 years as a HVAC technician in several local companies and retired in 2010.
Al loved antique cars, the Red Sox and Patriots and solving crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed vacations and music. Most importantly he enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his children Wayne M. Reed and his wife Stacy Reed of Weymouth, Tara A. Reed of Whitman, Kelly J. Reed-Flaven and her husband Thomas Flaven of Middleboro and Ryan C. Reed-Bariteau and his husband Todd Bariteau of Tiverton, RI. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Al was the brother of Cherry Olson of Whitman, Dolores Reed of Wareham, Yvonne Reed of Cape Coral, FL and the late Jennifer Brettle, Robert Reed and Frances “Tinchy” Christophers.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 4-8pm. A Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11am.
