Louie T. Gibson, Jr., 57, of Ellijay, Georgia, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gibson was born August 19, 1960, in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Louie T. & Mary Kathleen Michaels Gibson. He was raised in Fitzgerald and was a 1979 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He earned an Associates degree in Business Administration from South Georgia College in Douglas. He worked as an assistant superintendent construction and also worked in hotel maintenance. Mr. Gibson was also a certified diesel mechanic. He was an avid bass fisherman and participated in many tournaments in North Georgia. He attended Ocilla Church of God.
He is survived by his companion, Debbie Lynn Fletcher of Douglas; his grandchildren: Shaiden Culleny and Coralynn Culleny, both of Fitzgerald; his siblings: Kathleen & Jerry Swanson, Charmagne Lasseter, and Albert David Gibson, all of Fitzgerald; and one special girl, Sheikah.
