Obituary

Linda A. (Whites) Pouliot 70, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home, with family at her side, Monday November 27, 2017 following an illness.

Born February 17, 1947 in Shrewsbury, a daughter of the late Andrew W. and Ruth E. (Luksis) Whites, she was a resident of Franklin for over 39 years.

She was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education. Linda worked as an English teacher for the City of Worcester. Following her move to Franklin, while raising her family, she started the Interfaith Food Pantry at the Franklin United Methodist Church and seeing the need to reach more families Linda started the Franklin Food Pantry, Inc. where she served as the executive director for over 10 years.

She was proud of her Native American heritage and culture; she practiced herbal healing, and enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, and dream catchers. Linda loved all animals, especially cats.

Linda is survived by her children, Bonnie L. Akerman and her husband James E. Akerman, Sr. of Newport, New Hampshire, Paul A. Pouliot and his wife Olivia of Franklin, and her grandchildren, James E. Akerman, Jr, Hailey L. Akerman and Amy Hurst. She also leaves her aunt Lillian Luksis of Boylston.

She is the sister of the late Judy Rose and Sandy Whites.

Her funeral service and interment will be held privately.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the care of the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St.
