Harvey Lee Barton, 65, of Tifton passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Salone Green officiating. Mr. Barton will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Dallas Cole Carmichael, Ansley Pitts, Bryce Whaley, Joey Marta, Timothy Marta and Joe Cardin will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 9, 1952 in Macon, Mr. Barton was the son of the late Early Horace Barton and Etta Louise Bledsoe Barton. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He was a painter with Barton Painting and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a supporter of ASPCA Animal Shelters.
Mr. Barton is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Lee Barton, Sr. and wife Monica of Pensacola, Florida; one step-son, Louis Thomas of Milton, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Joe Marta of Tifton; and three grandchildren, Christopher Barton, Jr., Destiny Barton and Ashlyn Barton.
