ROCHESTER — Gloria H. Smigel, of Rochester, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Chester Smigel.
She was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Henry A. and Mary (LaBonte) Lesieur and was a life long area resident.
Gloria was a talented knitter and crocheter and loved camping and attending country fairs.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Ellen G. Smigel and her companion James Craig, her son Chester H. Smigel and his companion Cindy Amaral, her grandchild Andrea Shorey and her husband Kenneth of Rhode Island, her great grandchildren Brice and Rilay. She was the sister of George Lesieur of Texas and the late Germaine 0'Neill.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 4-7 P.M. in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County Street, New Bedford. Her Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 9:15 A.M. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Vaughan Hill Road, Rochester, followed by burial in Veterans Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
