Mr. James Harry Higgins, 97, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Doctor’s Hospital.
Mr. Higgins was born November 24, 1920 to Greene and Lois Higgins in Winder, Georgia. A family graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beatrice, and his son, James Michael Higgins. He is survived by his sons, Scott Higgins and wife, Jane, Randy Higgins and wife, Theresa, Jeff Higgins and wife, Michelle, his daughter, Dee Anne Sauter and husband, Bruce, his two sisters in law, Olivia Smalley of Lincolnton, Ga and Maybelle Cryder of Elberton, Ga, as well as 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Harry retired as Vice President of Chas S. Martin Distributing Company in Atlanta and went on to a second career as owner of Advance Rental System until his retirement at age 82. Harry had a good sense of humor and fancied himself a born salesman. He enjoyed the affections of a large, loving family and will always be remembered fondly. He will be missed.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Margaret Cole, the caring staff at Morningside Assisted Living and the very capable staff at The Place in Martinez.
