Dorothy (Doss) Knowles Maxwell, 86, of Londonderry, NH, passed away November 30, 2017 at High Point Hospice of Haverhill, MA. Mrs. Maxwell was born January 6, 1931 in Pittsburg, PA and was a daughter of the late James M. and Beatrice (Shea) Knowles. She was raised and educated in Fairmont, WV. And lived most of her adult life in the Pittsburg, PA area. After retirement, she lived in Tucson, AZ for 20 years and relocated to Londonderry six years ago.
Doss was the Office Manager for many years at the Foster Thomas Oral Surgery Center in Pittsburg as well as being a full-time mom. She enjoyed needlepoint, golf and bridge. Mrs. Maxwell was a past president of the Tucson Newcomers Club and a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church of Londonderry.
Members of the family include her loving husband of 65 years, J. Robert Maxwell, Sr. of Londonderry, her son and his wife J. Robert, Jr. and Mary Lou Maxwell, two grandchildren and their wives, Jim & Christine Maxwell and Michael & Jacqueline Maxwell, two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Jessica Maxwell, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours, after cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated, Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, 1 South Rd., Londonderry.
