Bishop, Richard Wendell (Dick) passed away on November 27 at his home in Westwood, Massachusetts. Born in Quincy, to the late Rose Rae (St. John) Bishop and Wendell Richard Bishop, Dick was a 1952 graduate of Rockland High School. Dick and his late wife Joan Frances (McManus) Bishop lived in West Newton for over 20 years raising their family before moving to Westwood in 1987.
He was the beloved father of Ann (Bishop) Andrew of North Easton, Richard of Dexter, Michigan, and Janet (Bishop) Teehan of North Easton. He was the grandfather of Meghan, Kendall, and Timothy Andrew, Liam, Aidan, Kilian Bishop, and Ryan, Shaun and Brendan Teehan. Dick was a devoted companion to Juliann Scott for the past eight years. Dick was a graduate of Northeastern University, receiving his undergraduate degree in business and a master’s degree in educational administration. He spent 40 years in higher education, at Northeastern University, and later at Babson College.
At the decedent’s request there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rosie’s Place in Boston or Pan Mass Challenge, two of Dick’s favorite charities.
