Marcelle M. Eckert, 87, of Woonsocket died Friday November 24, 2017 at The Ballou Home. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Eckert. They were married on September 13, 1952 and shared over 35 years together until his passing in 1988.
Born and raised in Providence she was a daughter of the elate Albert and Aliva (Duchene) Guibault. She was a graduate of the former St. Charles Borromeo Girls High School in Providence.
Following her marriage she moved to New Jersey where she lived for most of her adult life. She resided over the years in Newark, Irvington, Edison and Holmdel. She relocated to the Woonsocket area in 2012 so her family could care for her.
She was employed at several Catholic schools in New Jersey including Union Catholic School, Immaculata High School in Somerville and St. John Vianney High School in Holmdale.
Marcelle enjoyed bowling and trying her luck on many trips to Atlantic City.
She is survived by a daughter Deborah A. Campbell and her husband Robert of Woonsocket and was the mother of the late Cynthia L. Cichetti who passed away in 1985. She was the sister of Rita Bonoyer of Warwick, Laura Schmidt of CA., and the late Raymond Guibault, Lillian Rotondo and Evelyn Fredette. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew and Kelly Campbell and her fiancé Sean Leary, Kevin Cichetti, Heather Chafa and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visiting hours will be Friday Dec. 1st from 6-8pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday December 4th at 10:15 am in St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral 32 Elm Ave. Metuchen. Burial will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Inman Ave. Colonia. Visiting hours are Monday morning from 8:30-9:45 am, prior to Mass, in the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. Metuchen.
