Angel L. “Chinito” Vendrell, age 40, of Taunton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on November 20, 1977, he was the loving son of Nilsa (Quinones) Saldana and her husband Ulises of Taunton and the late Angel L. Vendrell.
Angel spent his early childhood living in Puerto Rico. At age 9, Along with his family, he moved to the United States and settled in Taunton, where he was educated and resided ever since.
Chinito had worked as a laborer for several area temporary services. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of New Bedford and was anticipating the birth of his first son.
Chinito’s favorite times by far were those spent with family and friends. He had a smile that could light up a room and a remarkable sense of humor that made others around him happy and laugh. His hobbies included playing basketball and dancing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his devoted daughter Chantel Vendrell of Taunton. He was the dear brother of Carlos Carmona of Taunton, Yanira Quinones of Taunton, Luis Vendrell of Taunton and Danitza Garcia of Taunton. He was the cherished boyfriend of Alexandra Rodriguez of Taunton, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton. Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 4th from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home.
