Sohail Amin, age 51, of East Taunton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the embracing love of his family, on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Rodriguez) Amin, to whom he was wed on October 1, 1988.
Born in Lahore, Pakistan on November 7, 1966, he was a loving son of the late Mohammad and Saeeda (Ahktar) Amin.
He spent his childhood living in Pakistan until moving to the United States as a teenager. His family first settled in Middleboro and later moved to Taunton, where he was educated at Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School.
For the majority of his working career, Sohail was employed as a welder working last for Mass Tanks in Middleboro.
Sohail’s family was by far the essence of his life. He was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club in Middleboro, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, loved music in general, was quite proud of the appearance of his yard and was truly a “Jack of all trades”.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, he is survived by his devoted children Gary R. Rose of East Taunton, and Sheela Amin Soares and her husband Jay of North Dighton. He was the adoring grandfather of Gary R. Rose, Jr., Landon W. Rose, Jaila Amin Soares and Kingston J. Soares. He was the dear brother of Javed Amin and his wife Elizabeth of Lakeville, Parvez Amin and his wife Eva of Norway, Farzana Butt and her husband Mukthar of Attleboro, and Robina Khan and her husband Azhar of Berkley. He was the cherished son-in-law of Rafael Rodriguez of Taunton, Judith Rodriguez Medas of East Taunton, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Sunday, December 3rd from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton. A reception will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Memorial Club, 29 Elm St., Middleboro.
Burial will take place on Monday, December 4th at 11:00 A.M. at the Cedar Knoll Cemetery, 175 Staples St., East Taunton.
