Obituary

Mr. Robert E. Perkins, of Johnston, R.I., and formerly of Raynham, entered into rest unexpectedly Tuesday, November 28 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Lois Ann (Murray) Perkins. He was born 83 years ago in Rochester, N.H., the son of the late Herbert and Roseanne (Pouliot) Perkins. He was educated in New Hampshire and Brockton, Ma., and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and his Master’s Degree in Special Education from Bridgewater State College. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a self-employed Financial Planner for 20 years. He was previously employed at the former Paul A. Dever State School for several years. Robert also worked at Taunton Savings Bank and for the Metropolitan Insurance Company. Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving for 20 years, having attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was stationed at Iwo Jima and was awarded Airman of the Year. He was a communicant of St. Bellamine Parish in Johnston, and was a former communicant of St. Ann’s Parish in Raynham.

He leaves: 1 son: Michael R. Perkins and his wife, Susan Stacey of Franklin; 1 daughter: Yvonne M. DeNuccio and her husband, Stephen of Providence, R.I.; 3 grandchildren: Christopher and Michelle DeNuccio, and Jenielle Perkins, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was also the brother of the late Herbert Perkins and Constance (Perkins) Brown.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Monday, December 4 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment with Military Honors will be Pleasant Street Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc., P.O. Box 431, Middleboro, Ma., 02346.
