O’BRIEN, David L. III, “OB”, of Winthrop, passed away suddenly on November 26, 2017. He was 48 years old. He was the cherished son of David L. and Paulette A. (Sirois) O’Brien Jr. of Winthrop. Dear brother of Christopher J. O’Brien and his wife Kristen of Reading, Matthew P. O’Brien and his wife Lisa of Topsfield, Paul M. O’Brien and his wife Elizabeth of Winthrop, Meghan E. Verdaguer and her husband Alejandro of Reading and Mark A. O’Brien of Winthrop. Beloved uncle of 10 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Sunday, Dec 3, from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Mon, Dec 4, in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop at 10am. Please go directly to church. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section). David was employed by Roche Diagnostics based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop. He had a passion for boating and sailing and enjoyed spending time at Yirrell Beach in Winthrop. He was a loyal fan of both the Patriots and the Bruins. David was a sports car enthusiast and enjoyed owning and driving his Ford Mustang. But, most importantly, he loved being around his family and friends.
