Gorman H. "Doc" Self, 97, of Anderson went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2017 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 18, 1920 in Hartman, Arkansas, the son of Jacob and Felia (MacKnight) Self.
Doc served in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked Maintenance and Inspection for Delco Remy for more than 30 years.
He was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Doc was preceded in death by his wife, Lela (Light) Self whom he married December 14, 1943 in Clarksville, Arkansas; his parents, siblings: Talmage, Dexter, Raymond, Alonzo, Howard Self, Lola Dennis and Mabel MacIntyre.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.
Memorial contributions may be given to Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
