Whitman - Franklin H. Still, Jr. 76, died at home on Monday November 27 after a period of failing health. Born in Weymouth, MA in 1941 but grew up in Brockton, MA. Predeceased by his parents, Dorothy (Young) Still and Franklin Still and sister, Judy Rogerson.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Janice L (Delory) Still and proud father of 3 sons, Mike Still and his wife Angie, Mark Still and his fiancé Chamrian and Tony Roberts and his wife Brandy. He was also grandfather to 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Adam, Clay, Blakely, Sierra and Ben as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1966 on the USS Neptune in the Arctic and Atlantic. Upon leaving the Navy he worked for Bethlehem Steel Shipyard in East Boston as well as Boston Drydock and also worked at General Dynamics for many years until it closed in 1986. He worked at Milton Academy as a boiler technician taking care of the campus in Milton, MA until he retired.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman throughout his life and loved working outside and exploring nature, tending to his garden and taking care of many pets over the years especially his 3 feral cats, Louie, Donna and Ivy as well as a countless numbers of wild turkeys, deer and wild birds and any other wildlife that frequented their home.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held Saturday December 2 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank can be made in his name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 101 Columbian St., Weymouth , MA 02190, Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St, West Bridgewater, MA., 02379 or your local SPCA
