Doris J. Dionne
Manchester– Doris J. Dionne, 88, died November 25, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on February 13, 1929 the daughter of Lucien and Adrienne (Lemay) Trahan and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
She was a former parishioner of Parish of the Transfiguration and attended masses.
She was devoted to her family, spending time with them meant the world to her. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and crocheting.
She held membership in The Ladies of St. Anne, and the Women’s Club of Parish of the Transfiguration. She was a cook at Parkside Junior High School for 25 years, a volunteer at Elliot Hospital and would knit prayer shawls for the parish who would then provide for those in need.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Maurice G. Dionne on March 1, 2014.
Family members include her 2 daughters, Janet L. Chagnon and her husband, Frederick, and Denise A. Venne both of Manchester. She also leaves four grandchildren, Matthew Chagnon and his wife, Jennifer, Bradley Venne, and his wife Carolyn, Dylan Chagnon, Oliver Chagnon, three great grandchildren, twins, Henry and Peter Venne, Amelia Chagnon, brother, Roland Trahan of CT., sisters, Yvette Beaudet of FL., Claire Kirouac of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Lillian E. Trahan in 1989 and a son-in-law Alfred R. Venne in 2007.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley and Youville St.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
