Cecil Winn, 97, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at his residence.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Winn was born October 8, 1920, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Lew & Bessie Pitts Winn. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II, having been stationed in the Philippines. He was a general contractor and worked for many years in the construction business. Mr. Winn enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing cards and was an avid chess player. He also enjoyed spending time at the river, many will remember seeing him water ski.
He is survived by his children: Cheryl Edge, Tommie Lou Winn, and Mike Winn, all of Fitzgerald; his grandchildren: John Harvey McPeters, Nicholas Quinn McPeters, Lisa Lewis, Mark Bedingfield, and Michaela Winn; as well as several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
