Claire D. Smith, age 102 formerly of Fall River, passed away on Thursday Nov. 23, 2017 at the Somerset Ridge Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Charles Smith and the late Mary Ann (Swain) Smith. Prior to retiring, Claire worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Manufacturing Industry. She was a member of Amalgamated & UNITE labor unions.
She is survived by her beloved daughter: Mary Ann Jefferson of Swansea; her grandson: Adam Jefferson & his wife Jennifer Dodge of Glenburn, ME; two great grandchildren: Carter Quincy and Kennedy Claire; nieces and nephews: Lynn, Steven, Curtis, Roberta, Leslie, & Jeffery. She was predeceased by her two brothers: Melvin & Raymond Smith and her sister in law: Shirley Smith.
Claire’s private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River, MA.
