Gregory Tripousis

TEWKSBURY - Gregory Tripousis, 60, died Tuesday afternoon, June 11, at the Lahey ClinicMedical Center in Burlington after a long illness. He was the husband of Audrey A. (Pennell)Tripousis, with whom he had celebrated a 20 wedding anniversary this past Nov. 7th.

He was born in Chios, Greece, May 9, 1942 the son of the late George and Eleftheria (Kalagias)Tripousis. He emegrated to the U.S. at age 17, and settled in the Greater Boston area. He hadlived in Tewksbury since 1972.

He was employed as a commercial and industrial painter as a member of the InternationalBrotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 577 in Boston, and owner of B & P Painting.

He was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell, and a member of theTewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge # 2070.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Covey Tripousis andhis wife Sonya (Varounis) Tripousis of Sanford, ME, and George Walter Tripousis of Tewksbury,two grandchildren, Douglas Covey Tripousis and Katie Covey Tripousis, two sisters, MariaTantoulos of Medford and Nea Ahern of Andover, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His funeral was Saturday, June 15 in the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Clark St.Lowell, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
