Dale Edwin Noland, age 89, passed away on November 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born, raised, and educated in Oregon before joining the Navy. Dale was proud to serve in both WWII and Korea during such difficult times of our world history. The Navy eventually brought him to the East Coast where he met his beloved wife of 64 years Lorraine (Donnelly). They soon got married and settled in Weymouth where they have raised a family and created many fond memories. Dale joined the Weymouth Police in 1961 and worked his way to Detective then retired in 1986. In retirement Dale and Lorraine enjoyed many winters escaping to Naples, FL among many other trips including Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and Ireland. Dale was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 697 in Whitman and a true jack-of-all-trades. He is described by his friends and family as a dedicated family man who will be missed for his selfless charisma.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine Noland (Donnelly) of Weymouth, his loving children Dianne N. Pfluger of Plymouth, Dale M. Noland and his wife the late Nancy of Kingston, and Laurie N. McGrath and her husband Neal of Weymouth, his cherished grandchildren Erin Guzzo and her husband Rob, Bryan Noland and his wife Kerri, Kimberly Pfluger, David McGrath, and Siobhan McGrath. Dale is also survived by his great-grandson Nicholas and his sister B. Charleen Commons.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Dale on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2-6 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Monday morning at 10AM for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass in Honor of Dale’s life which will take place at 11AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Shore Support Services, an organization dedicated to helping disabled individuals and their families, at 884 Washington St., Suite 100, Weymouth, MA 02189 ATTN: Susan Zamansky.
