Christy Whitley Revels, 70, of Leesburg, Georgia, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at her residence in Leesburg, Georgia.
Memorial graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, November 20, 2017, at Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with Pastor Terrell Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Revels was born August 20, 1947, in Tift County, Georgia, to the late Willis Malcom “Mack” & Libby Annette McMillan Whitley. She moved to Leesburg in 1976 from Tifton, Georgia and Albany, Georgia. Mrs. Revels was a waitress for Merry Acres, a meat wrapper and deli manager for Piggly Wiggly and an accounts receivable clerk for Transmission Crafters and Modern Gas, all of Albany. She enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, especially Apalachicola, music, dancing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gene Revels of Leesburg; children: Rebecca Anne Woods & husband Steve of Leesburg and Gene Revels, Jr. “Bubba” of Cordele; grandchildren: Brody Revels, Leah Doyon and Magan Doyon; a brother, Ed Mack Whitley & wife Vickie of Ocilla and a sister, Jennifer Griffin & husband Dale of Tifton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Moore.
