Walter V. Vigneau, 69, of Sunset Drive, died peacefully Saturday at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Deborah M. (Rocco) Vigneau. They had been married for 47 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late George and Mary (McGarty) Vigneau. He had lived in Smithfield for 41 years previously living in North Providence. He was the Proprietor of the Rhode Island Fruit and Syrup Company for over 40 years before retiring.
He was an avid golfer, loved to read and watch sports on television.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Renee Marie “Nae” Vigneau of Providence and Christopher Vigneau of Exeter, a granddaughter, Chloe and his siblings, Gregg Vigneau of Clayville and Kathleen Finnerty of Cranston. He was the twin brother of the late George Vigneau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 17th at 11am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Thursday from 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc.
