Obituary

Robert Byers Pyke, 83, of Norfolk, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home.

Born in Milford on April 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Byers M. and Annie E. (Swan) Pyke.

Mr. Pyke was a resident of Norfolk for the past eight years and had formerly resided in Medway.

He graduated from Medway High School and proudly served in the Army for 2 years during the Vietnam War.

Before his retirement, Mr. Pyke worked at New England Telephone Co. for 33 years.

He is survived by his son Robert E. Pyke and his wife Debra of Foxworth, Mississippi, two grandchildren Robert Edward Pyke, Jr. and Katrina Lynn Bauer, six great-grandchildren, and a cousin Shirley Pyke Pond and her husband Francis of Upton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Pyke’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
