Elaine E. (Rondeau) Duke, 81 of Derry, NH died Sunday November 12, 2017 at the Warde Health Center, Windham, NH. Elaine was born in Lawrence, MA on March 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Leo and Cecile (Masse) Rondeau. She had resided in Derry for the past 25 years, formerly living in Lawrence and Andover, MA. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry and previous member of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Elaine loved to cook, color and crochet, and enjoyed donating to needy families. She was also a huge Elvis fan.
She is survived by her children, George W. Duke and his wife Pauline of Hampstead, NH, Alan “Bubba” Duke and his companion Tina Marcoux of Somersworth, NH, Larry Duke and his wife Elaine of Atkinson, NH, and Karen Kauffman and her husband David of Fremont, NH, and two daughter-in-laws, Deborah Duke of Somersworth, NH and Shelly Duke of North Andover, MA, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ronald Rondeau and his wife Jean of Rochester, NH, and Leo Rondeau in Indianapolis, IN, two sisters, Claudette Piergo of Manchester, NH, and Joan Blouin and her husband Larry of Derry. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred L. Duke in 1993, and by her son, Richard E. Duke in 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Friends called on Wednesday from 8:30 – 9:15 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial followed in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Rd., Windham, NH 03087.
