Obituary

David Ray Manco Sr., 65, died November 10,2017 surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
He retired from DuPont DeNemours & Company, veteran of the United States Marine Corps from (1971-1977).
Dave was a proud 1971 graduate of Suda E. Butler High School and a member of the Butler Bear Marching Band. Dave was proficient on many instruments including strings, brass, percussion and electric.
He enjoyed performing in Rock bands from the time he was a teenager to a grandfather. He could be found playing “gigs” with the Survivors, Copperfield and Stranded. He was a member of the Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club and enjoyed other hobbies such as fishing, camping, traveling, and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Dave spent many years coaching youth football, baseball and softball for the firefighters, Spartan Youth and Valley Sports, he was a Kentucky Colonel.
.He was preceded in death by his sister Billie Henry and nephew Michael Henry.
Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 42 years, Paula Marie ( Fowler) Manco, daughter Dawn Marie Roy and her husband James Roy and son David Ray “Buddy” Manco Jr. and his wife Ashley Manco;
Grandchildren Amelia Carol and Parker Wyatt Roy, Violet Jane and Nolan Clark Manco; sister Robin Crim and her husband Phil; mother-in-law Jacqueline Fowler; Aunt’s Evonia Stice and Jessie Johnson; brother-in-law Danny Henry and sister-in-law Theresa Thompson (Mike), Cathy Dukes (Jeff), and lifelong best friend Mike Embry and his wife Peggy and host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be Monday at 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
