Stephen L. Griffin, Sr., 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, November 10, 2017, at Azalea Health & Rehabilitation in Metter, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 13, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Isaac Thomas and the Rev. Michael Gaulden officiating. A eulogy will be delivered by Stephen Griffin, Jr. Interment will follow in Dorminy Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Griffin was born November 27, 1956, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to Bill & Carrie Thompson Griffin. He lived in the community all of his life and worked for the Ben Hill County Road Department as a welder. He was an ordained minister and loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. Mr. Griffin was a member of Dorminy Mill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 15 years, Bonnie Williamson Dugger of Fitzgerald; children: Stephen Griffin, Jr. & Kayla of Norman Park and Joshua Griffin & Tanice of Metter; step-children: Jesse & Christina Fletcher of Fitzgerald, Eric Dugger of Fitzgerald, Brett Dugger of Rincon, Joel & Brandi Dugger of Fitzgerald, Nicole Dugger of Rincon, David Dugger, Jr. & Theresa of Long Island, New York and Chris Dugger of McRae/Helena; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: David & Myra Griffin of Fitzgerald and Kenny & Tammy Griffin of Ty Ty and a sister, Cindy Young of Yulee, Florida. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Griffin.
