Christina M. Ryan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her home in Charlestown. She was 86 years of age.
Christina was born in Somerville on December 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Patrick J. Ryan and Mary F. (O'Connell) Ryan. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Girls High School in Boston in 1947. Christina was employed by the United States Government for over 40 years as a Supervisor, where she worked at the Chelsea Naval Hospital and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, listening to music, bowling, watching the BostonRed Sox and golf.
Christina is the beloved daughter of the late Patrick J. Ryan and Mary F. (O'Connell) Ryan. She is the loving sister of Anne Regan of Charlestown, Reverend Patrick J. Ryan S.J. of Campion Center, Weston, and the late John Ryan and Joseph Ryan. She is the devoted aunt to Christina Roache, Marianne Broderick, Thomas Regan, John Regan, and Patrick Regan, and to her grandnieces & grandnephews. She is the beloved cousin of the late Mary Coffey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Christina's Funeral on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
