Claire M. (Lariviere) Sylvia, 85, of New Bedford died Wednesday November 8, 2018 at Care One at New Bedford after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John R. Sylvia, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Albert and Yvonne (Lamoureux) Lariviere, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Sylvia was formerly employed as a pharmacist at Saulnier's Pharmacy.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and New England School of Pharmacy.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Sylvia of Port Orange, FL, and David P. Sylvia and his wife Kathleen of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Caitlin, Patrick, Owen and Emma; two great-grandchildren, Callie and Caroline; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Diane Girouard and Charles A. Lariviere.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday Nov. 11, 2017 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 9 AM.
