Tomoko M. Jordan - "Mimi" 84 of Whitman, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Gifu, Japan on August 1, 1933 she was the wife of the late Warren M. Jordan and daughter of the late Yae & Buzzo Minoura. Tomoko was also formerly married to George L. Peters of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
She loved to crochet, making and giving away many scarfs and dishcloths. Tomoko was a fabulous cook and guests always looked forward to her Curry, Rice Pockets and Broccoli Salad.
In Tomoko's later years she loved to attend the Senior Day Program in Hanson, where her favorite day was when there was dancing. Tomoko was well loved by all that came in contact with her, as she was always smiling and happy to chat with anyone who had a minute.
Tomoko worked for many years at Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater and after taking early retirement went to work at CVS in Whitman.
Tomoko was the the loving mother of the late George Peters, Jr, and Katherine Getchell and her husband Mark of Whitman, whom she lived with. She was the proud Grandmother of Brian Getchell and his wife Dana of Whitman, Elizabeth Drews and her husband Jim of Wellesley and Kailyn Martino and her husband Christopher of Wall, New Jersey. Her most cherished days were time spent with her nine Great Grandchildren, Riley, Jacob, Brody and Maddox Getchell, Kate, Lila, Jay & Robert Drews and her newest Great Grandson Benny Martino.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 10. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 11 at 10:00 AM. Both are at Blanchard Funeral Chapel - Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, Mass. A burial will immediately follow at the High Street Cemetery, Whitman, Mass.
