CHICOPEE – Jeannette O. (Lucier) Ritchott, 96, a former longtime resident of the Valley View Apartments in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, November 5, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on September 8, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Salva) Lucier. She was raised in Westfield, graduated from Westfield schools and lived in Westfield for many years before moving to the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee. In 1991, she moved to Aldenville where she lived for many years. She was employed as a dietician and aide at the Western Mass Hospital and had previously worked at Noble Hospital, both in Westfield. She was a former communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and choir member. She currently was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a choir member and a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality. She was also a member of the Valley View and the Aldenville Senior Centers, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 625 and the Senior Companion Program, all in Chicopee. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Conrad N. “Connie” Ritchott who was Called Home on June 29, 1986 and whom she always lovingly referred to as “My Connie”. She leaves her loving sister, Rachel Deschamps of New Hampshire; her dear niece and nephew, Diane Allison and her husband, Dave, of New Hampshire and Donald Deschamps and his wife, Jackie, of Florida; her three cherished great nieces and two cherished great nephews, Rosemary Maynes who was also her longtime caregiver and her husband, Donald, of Chicopee, Lori Achorn and her husband, Ron, of Chicopee, Sally Tanguay and her partner, Dave Schmitt, of Richlands, NC, Michael Boisvere and his partner, Deanna Gaulin, of Chicopee and Barry Boisvere and his wife, Sue, of Dale City, VA; and her many dear friends and extended members of the Ritchott and Lucier families. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning, November 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Mary Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, MA 01085. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
