It is with sadness and love that Gary Richard Josefiak, 65, of South Windsor, CT has passed from this life to the next. He was born and raised in Chicopee, MA where he graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1972. He enlisted in the Airforce and served 39 years of loyal service. After his basic training he was stationed in Rapid City, SD as an Aircraft Mechanic Crew Chief of a C-130. He then transferred to Chicopee, MA and worked in the 439 Maintenance Squadron at Westover Airforce Base as a Crew Chief of a C-5 Aircraft and retired as the highest rank in his field as a Tech Sargent. He was a fun-loving man with a heart of gold and always willing to lend a helping hand. He had many hobbies which included hunting, fishing, cooking and raising chickens. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 6 years, June Sample-Josefiak, his daughter, Jennifer Josefiak of Clinton, MA, daughter Christine Vega and her husband Gary of Enfield, CT, son Lt. David Josefiak of Enfield, CT and his step daughters and their children. His grandchildren Alexis Vega and Kyle Josefiak; his sister Lisa Josefiak Pratt and her husband Donald of Sneads Ferry, NC; his brothers Wayne Josefiak of Chicopee and Neil Josefiak of Hyannis, MA; his nieces and nephews Brianna and Austin Pratt of NH and Ricky and Katie Josefiak. He is predeceased by his mother and father Jeanette Roberts and Richard Josefiak and his beloved Ciocia Anna Radwanski. Calling hours will be held on Wed. Nov. 8, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
