FALL RIVER – Escolastica F. Rodrigues, age 93 of Fall River, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Francisco Furtado and the late Corolena (deJesus) Furtado and the beloved wife of the late Carlos Da Silva Rodrigues. Prior to retiring, Escolastica worked as a sewing machine operator for the Garment Manufacturing Industry in Fall River and was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.
She is survived by her five children: Natalia R. Bulhoes, Alda Costa (husband Jose Maria), Filomena Rodrigues, Fernanda Lambert-Rhode, Venilde Loureiro (husband Joseph); three siblings: Isabel Botelho, Eduarda Gomes, Cremelde Schreiber; nine grandchildren: Steven Bulhoes, Michele Deaver, Jeffrey Rodrigues, Stacy DeFreitas, Nancy Brown-Cabral, Christopher Loureiro, Adam Loureiro, Jolene Lambert, and Jacob Loureiro; eight great grandchildren: Kayla Medeiros, Alex Medeiros, Sierra Brown, Ethan Brown, Cameron Bulhoes, Andrew Bulhoes, Iliana Deaver & Imani Deaver, Anastasia Rodriguez; several nieces & nephews. She was also the mother of the late Olida Rodrigues.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River, MA on Wednesday here at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M.
