Obituary

WAYLAND: Longtime Wayland resident, Ida L. (Siclari) Badders, 90, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her family on October 30, 2017 following a brief illness.
She was born in the Bronx, New York on August 7, 1927 the daughter of the late Domenico Siclari and Angelina (Canale) Siclari.
Ida was the beloved wife for 67 years of the late Philip L. “Phil” Badders who died on July 27, 2017.
She was the loving mother of Richard Badders of Sudbury formerly of Wayland; Nancy Badders Maurer and her husband Ken Maurer of Oviedo, FL and Susan Badders LoSardo and her husband Stephen LoSardo of Churchville, PA. Cherished “Nana” of Joseph Maurer and Natalie Maurer both of Oviedo, FL and David LoSardo and Christopher LoSardo both of Churchville, PA Sister of Mary Giannuzzi of Franklin, WI and the late Marian Sollazzo and Anthony Siclari. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ida spent her formative years in the Bronx, NY and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx with the Class of 1945. After high school, she attended secretarial school in New York City and worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years. She and Phil relocated briefly to Maine before moving to Wayland in 1956 where they settled and raised their children.
Ida retired in 1991 after 25 years of dedicated service as an Administrative Secretary at Wayland High School. Throughout her tenure, Ida worked in the Math, English, Social Studies and Language departments. She always had a drawer full of candy at the ready for students and staff as they passed by. Ida was an accomplished cook and baker, loved to entertain family and friends and always made sure that everyone was well fed. Her warm and loving personality along with her quick wit and sense of humor made everyone smile. And her grace and dignity with which she lived her life will always be admired.
The most important aspect of Ida’s life was the love and devotion to her husband Phil and her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all the lives that she touched in her ninety years.
Visitations will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm followed by a prayer service at 12:30 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland with Rev. David O’Leary.
Interment will follow in the Badders family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
