George T. "Sonny" Partridge, Jr., 84, of Auburn, died Wednesday, November 1st in UMass Hospital. His wife of 33 years, Beverly A. (Russell) Partridge died in 1988. He leaves, five daughters, Denise A. Gentile and her husband, Richard of Auburn, Patricia M. Neeland and her husband, Joseph of Shrewsbury, Paula M. Turnbull of Leicester, Tracy A. Bombard of Stafford Springs, CT and Tammy M. Laske and her husband, Michael of Worcester; his sister Ann M. Partridge of Auburn, and ten grandchildren, Stephen J. Sclamo, Christopher Parzych, Samantha and Jeremy Wickson, Steven T. and Nicholas J. Rivers, Amanda M. Turnbull, Taryn A. Gentile, Kayla and Kelli Laske. His brother, Ronald Partridge predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, the son of George T. Partridge, Sr. and Ann (Colbert) Partridge. Sonny had been employed as a machinist for Heald Machine for 33 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church; and will be remembered for his sense of humor and as an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His funeral is Monday, November 6th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, November 5th from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
