In Taunton, November 1, 2017 William J. Galligan, Age 85, passed away in Longmeadow Nursing Home in Taunton following a brief illness. William is survived by his beloved wife Jacqueline (Rounds) Galligan of Taunton. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Frank J. & Hilda (Hartling) Galligan. William had resided all his life in Taunton. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. William was employed at Reed & Barton Company for 32 years. He enjoyed college football, bowling, crossword puzzles, yard work, working at the flower stand at the former Root Beer Stand and helping his son Todd on his carpenter jobs. William is survived by his children, Jeffrey Galligan of North Dighton, Todd Galligan and his companion Sharon Dyson of Raynham and Greg Galligan and his wife Holly of Taunton. He also leaves his grandchildren, Eric and Brooke Galligan, Cody, Kelan and Griffin Galligan and his great grandson Dylan. Willaim also leaves his sister Elaine and his late brother Norman Galligan. He also leaves his niece Lori Rounds and her son Chase of Bridgewater and his close friend Denise Aleixo. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, November 6th 9:30 am. and a service being held at 10am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Burial will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
