Gary L. Watson, 50

Dateline: Norton, MA

Gary L. Watson, age 50, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away unexpectedly at home, of natural causes, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Monique Hicks-Watson.

Born in Attleboro, MA 0n August 25, 1967, he was a loving son of Albert C. Watson of Norton and the late Barbara A. (Ayotte) Watson.

Gary grew up in Norton, a member of a large well-known family and was a 1985 graduate of Norton High School. He, along with his family attended the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton.

Gary was extremely knowledgeable on many subjects. He spent the majority of his working career as a plumber, eventually becoming a master plumber, under the guidance of his most respected friend, neighbor and mentor; the late Clarence P. “Butch” Rich, Jr.

Gary enjoyed spending time with his large extended family, fishing, playing pool, sitting next to a fire and socializing with friends. He will forever be remembered as a free spirited person, who followed his own path and overcame life’s obstacles along the way.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his loving and devoted children Dana K. Watson, Bruce L. Martin and Brittney A. York, all of Norton. He was the dear brother of Sally A. Batista and her husband Vasco of Norton, Mark C. Watson and his companion Debbie of Norton, Thomas B. Watson of Norton, William L. Watson and his companion Gloria of Taunton and the late James C. Watson. He was the adoring grandfather of Gracie, the nephew of James Watson of Norton, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life, on Saturday, November 18th at 1:00 P.M. in the Trinitarian Congregation Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton.

Burial will take place privately at the Norton Cemetery Cemetery in Norton. Visiting hours have been omitted.

In lieu of flowers, Gary’s family would prefer and has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Memorial Fund of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, P.O. Box 2068, Norton, MA 02766
