Peter Liuzza, a Woburn resident for over fifty years formerly of Boston's North End, passed away at home with his wife by his side. He was 89 years of age. Peter was the beloved husband of Jeanette M. (Tortorici) Liuzza and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Francesco and Mattia (Messina) Liuzza.
Peter was a proud United States Navy Veteran and honorably served during WWII from early 1946 to 1949. Upon returning home from the service Peter was self employed until his retirement. Following his retirement he also worked for several years for the City of Woburn as a crossing guard at the Wyman School. Mostly devoted to his family, Peter was happiest at his home and cherished his time with his family and being surrounded by those he loved.
In addition to his beloved wife, Peter is survived by his five daughters, Carol A. Frasca and her husband Paul of Woburn, Martha Wadlinger and her husband Stephen of Arundel, ME, Jeanette MacLeod of Port Orange, FL, Marion Parisi and her husband Michael of Gloucester, Margaret Witt and her husband Richard of Maricopa, AZ, and his son, Richard Miano of Honolulu, HI. He was the loving grandfather of Adam and Alaina Frasca, Lauren Alleva, Matthew and Stephen Wadlinger, Michael and Jeanette MacLeod, Peter and Michaela Parisi, Keira Shaw, Colten Witt and the loving great grandfather of Meagan MacLeod and Marlowe Alleva. Peter is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, Tuesday, November 7th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Peter's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
