Robert T. Perry, Sr., 81, of New Bedford died October 31, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Carole A. (L'Heureux) Perry, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Felix George Perry and Gertrude F. (Rutledge) Perry, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed by Roofers Union Local 33 in Stoughton, MA for many years until his retirement.
Robert loved spending time with his family and enjoyed participating in all his grandchildren's activities, being their biggest fan. You would always find Pa-Pa in the front row of all his grandchildren's events (sports, drama, dance etc.) He loved watching old western movies while sitting in his most treasured chair at home and he loved his annual father's day claim boil. Robert's favorite activities were shopping and having coffee at Fort Phoenix.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Perry, Jr. of Fairhaven; a daughter, Kelly Ann (Perry) Miranda and her husband Steven Leonard Miranda of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Robert Thomas Perry, III, Ross Tyler Perry, Courtney Paige Miranda and Colby Steven Miranda; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late George Felix Perry.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 5-8 PM.
