Donald Lee Emmett, 82, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Memorial Hospital. He worked for L&N Railroad and was the founder of Emmett’s Furniture . He was a member of Shively Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Suburban Masonic Lodge # 740 and a Ky. Colonel.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Delores June Emmett; his parents, Virgil and Virgie Emmett; sister, Bonnie Warner.
He is survived by his two sons, Steve Emmett, David Emmett; daughter-in-law’s, Dana and Lori Emmett; brother, Allen Emmett (Juanita); sister, Sharon Clark (Junie); and brother- in law. Charlie Warner; sisters-in-laws, Dona Kresen (Ronnie); Joann Baker (Ron) and Peggy Capito (Jim); seven grandchildren, Joshua Owen, Erica, Justin, Dylan, Ashley, Adam and Josh; and six great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be 11 am Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway; with entombment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 2 pm to 8 pm Wednesday.
