Carlton Davis McDonald, 84, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, October 27, 2017, at Pruitt Health Fitzgerald.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. McDonald was born April 17, 1933, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Quincy & Mary Lou Davis McDonald. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School and was a member of the 1948 State Champion Purple Hurricane football team. Following his high school graduation, he served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked in electronics for Scientific Atlanta and was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Falcons fan. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by three children: Michael McDonald and Andrew McDonald, both of Fitzgerald and Lee Ann Walker of Tifton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Elie McDonald Pearo of Brunswick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom, John, and Andy.
