Mary Jane (Burgess) Lamontagne, 79, of Gorham, NH passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jane was born in Kennebunk, ME on 10/7/1938 to the late Arthur and Elsie (Wyman) Burgess. Mary was raised and educated in the Kennebunk area. Mary and her husband, Donald and 3 children moved to Gorham, NH in the late 1960's where they raised their family.
Mary adored her children and grandchildren. She devoted her life to caring for them. She loved to bake, sew, quilt, and spend time with her family. Mary made her career in banking with the Gorham Savings Bank, Home Bank, and retired from the Berlin City Bank. Mary Jane also enjoyed spending time with her friends and volunteered at the Gorham Information Booth. She was the best mother, grandmother and friend that anyone could ask for.
Mary is survived by her three children, Thomas Lamontagne and partner Ruth Ann Brown of Glen, NH, Jennifer Fall and partner Larry Gaudette of Intervale, NH and Kimberly Couture and husband David of Glen, NH. Her beloved grandchildren include, Cody Fall and his wife Karen of Revere, MA, Kyle Fall of Conway, NH, Bryan Lamontagne of Manchester, NH, Kristine Lamontagne of Manchester, NH, Shane Couture of Glen, NH and Colby Couture of Glen, NH. She is also survived by her brother Allan Burgess of Kennebunkport, ME as well as several devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Most recently, Mary was fortunate enough to be able to share in the joy of her first great-grandchild's birth. Kahlan Naomi Fall was born on October 23, 2017. Mary was looking forward to this occasion with great pride and anticipation.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Donald F Lamontagne, a sister Kathleen Burgess, and a brother William Burgess.
Mary and her family would like to extend our gratitude to Elizabeth Hewitt, a cherished family friend and caregiver, her devoted physician's Kathleen Donovan and Patty Duprey for their guidance, as well as, the visiting nurses of Carroll County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment for Mary J and Donald F Lamontagne will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. The Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham are handling the arrangements.
