Thomas Raymond Young, 73, of Litchfield, NH, died Friday October 27, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born in Haverhill, MA on September 30, 1944, a son of Charles Young and Marion Wilson Young, and had been a resident of Salem, NH for many years, prior to relocating to Litchfield seven years ago.
Mr. Young was an electrician by trade and had worked for several area companies, including Comcast, from where he retired. Mr. Young was the Chairman of the Litchfield Planning Board and a member of the Nashua Regional Planning Commission. He was a lifelong train enthusiast and a member of the Seashore Trolley Museum of Kennebunkport, ME. He was also a communicant of St. Francis Parish of Litchfield.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia (Becker) Young of Litchfield; three daughters and their husbands, Jennifer & Frank Vesey of Manchester, Stephanie & Christopher Robidoux of Willow Springs, NC and Lisa & Dennis Melvin of Mont Vernon, NH; his beloved grandchildren, Sydni, Francesca, Brady and Liam, a brother and his wife, Stephen & Kathleen Young of Manchester and a sister and her husband, Margaret & Marv Long of Oxnard, CA; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
After cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 9 St. Francis Way, Litchfield, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
