Lorraine (Medeiros) Benevides, age 93 of Taunton, passed away on October 29, 2017 at Life Care Center of Raynham.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Benevides.
Lorraine was born in Raynham, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Cambra) Medeiros.
Before retirement, Mrs. Benevides co/owned and operated the former Hampton Variety Store in Raynham for many years.
She enjoyed playing musical instruments, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Lorraine also loved to cook especially cake decorating.
Mrs. Benevides was the mother of Dale Cumiskey, and sister of Arthur Medeiros. She was the grandmother of Caitlin Cumiskey, great-grandmother of Areilla Cohenno. Lorraine was also the sister of the late Milton, Edward, Clarence and Edward Medeiros, Florence Gaskin and the late Lydia Thomas and grandmother of the late Sarah Cumiskey.
Mrs. Benevides funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church Kilmer Ave, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
