Obituary

Mrs. Celia A. (DeChamplain) Guillemette, of Taunton, entered into rest Saturday, October 28 at Boston Medical Center, Boston following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Adelard J. “Junior” Guillemette. She was born 75 years ago in North Dighton, the daughter of the late Roland J. and Cecelia K. (Sullivan) DeChamplain. She was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of the Morton Hospital School of Nursing. Celia was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the offices of Dr. Donahue, Dr. Overstreet, and Dr. Tito. She was previously employed at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. She was Past President of the Catholic Nurses Association. Her biggest love after her family was nursing. Celia enjoyed spending time with her children, and grandchildren, as well as playing with her great grandchild, Haylee. Celia also loved to visit Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine. She enjoyed tending to her plants and bird watching. She had a passion for reading and sitting at the beach with her grandkids. She was also very proud of the time she spent living overseas with her husband while he served in the military. As a teenager, Celia loved ice skating at Prospect Pond. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Taunton.

In addition to her husband, she leaves: 1 son: Gregg A. Guillemette and his wife, Evamarie; 2 daughters: Mia Perry and her husband, Michael, and Amy E. Guillemette and her partner, David Lundin; 1 brother: Roland J. DeChamplain of Colorado; 1 sister: Ann Crone; 5 grandchildren: Amy Nicole, Steven, Zerin Lee, Riley James, and Sean Joseph; 1 great granddaughter: Haylee, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, November 2 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:30 A.M. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
