Carol Wilbur Wormley
On April 12, 1931, God blessed the world through Milton Wormley and Mary L. (Stokes) Wormley by sending them one of the brightest beams of light. A baby boy given the name Carol Wilbur Wormley. Born in New York and raised throughout the cities of Massachusetts (Boston area). Carol was an only child, raised by his grandmother Bessie Stokes. Carol attended schools in the Boston area as a child. Carol, who often went by the nickname Lucky, was full of life and never lived a dull moment. Carol was a military man in his younger years. He entered the Navy as a Merchant Seaman, then entered the U.S. army and ended his military career when he was honorable discharged from the Air Force. While in the Air Force, he served in Korea with the 727th AC&W Squadron. Lucky lived the high life. Lucky was an entrepreneur most of his life. He owned a Limousine company for several years and worked for Raymond Security company. He also played as a musician in several bands over the years. He has been a long time member of the Roxbury Men’s Club.
Lucky married in 1956, to a short lived relationship, and of it were born his first two daughters Carolyn and Vickie Wormely of California, who preceded him in death. Also to precede him in death are his father and mother, Milton Wormley and Mary L. (Stokes) Wormley and his daughter Elizabeth Wormley. He leaves cherished sons: Michael of Boston, Carlos Harris of Boston, Carlos Wormley of Maine, Carl Wormley and his wife Liz of Gloucester, Alex Wilson and his wife Jean of Halifax, Troy Wilson and his wife Karla of California and Warren Garrison of Maryland. Daughters: Veronica (Copeland) Everette and her husband Stanley of Weymouth and Stephanie Dawkins and her husband Harold of Maryland. He is also survived by 40+ grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Visiting hours on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment with military honors on Monday November 6, at 1:30 pm in The Massachusetts National Cemetery. Late Air Force Veteran.
