Catherine M. (Coyle) O'Brien, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea. She was 90 years old.
Catherine was born in Boston on June 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles Coyle and Mary (O'Connell) Coyle. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Catherine was a homemaker throughout her life, taking care of her beloved family.
Catherine is the beloved wife of the late Cornelius O'Brien. She is the devoted mother of William O'Brien and his wife Margaret, Cornelius O'Brien and his wife Gail, and Kathleen Delcore and her husband John. She is the loving Nana to Billy, Timothy, Colleen, Catherine, John, Neil, Brian, and Grammy to her great-grandchildren Molly, Addison, and Austin. She is the beloved sister of the late Joseph "Leo" Coyle, Mary Loring, Charles "Buddy" Coyle, Eleanor Clegg, and William "Billy" Coyle. She also survived by her special nephew Charlie Loring.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Catherine's Funeral on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
