Ernie Asplin, age 96, of Warwick, Rhode Island, died October 1st. He was the husband of Sally (Gillespie) Asplin, they had been married 66 years.
Ernie was born in London England and immigrated to the USA with his wife and two children in 1957. He worked at Leesona Corporation for 30 years and worked part-time at Star Market for 17 years. He retired in 1986 and in his retirement he enjoyed time with his family, playing golf, reading, the Red Sox, cribbage, classical music, and a daily Manhattan on the rocks.
He is survived by his wife Sally, his sister Rose Tramonti, his daughter Teresa Cowell and her husband Thomas of Warwick , his son John Asplin and his wife Christine of Chicago, 4 grandchildren (Keith Lada, Craig Lada, Paul Asplin, Daniel Asplin) and 3 great-grandchildren (Avery, Charlotte, Lucy).
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Salvation Army of Rhode Island.
