Mrs. Marguerite “Peggy” (Leach) Gaudette, a lifelong resident of Andover and Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gaudette, passed away at the Prescott House Nursing Center in North Andover on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. She was 98 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Roger C. and Helen (Gallagher) Leach. Mrs. Gaudette was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1938. Marguerite was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. She had been employed in the office at the Wood Mills and later, after her children were grown, the Internal Revenue Service, until her retirement.
Peggy was a former member of the Andover Firefighters Ladies Auxillary where she had served as Treasurer. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and a good Bingo game. She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and participated in many activities at the Andover Senior Center. She will be dearly missed.
Peggy is survived by her loving children; Kathleen and her husband Charles Heseltine of Andover and MaryLou and her husband James Tremblay of Bradford, cherished grandchildren; Kimberly and Amy Heseltine and Sarah and her husband Jon Papazian and Michael Tremblay and his fiancée Lindsay Nyce and great-grandchildren; Veronica and Torin.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 4 to 8 PM.
