SOMERSET – Ernest E. Nunes, age 80 of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Costa) Nunes for 50 yrs. and the son of the late Frank & Phylis (Ray) Nunes. Prior to retiring, Ernest worked as a Silversmith for Reed & Barton Silver Co. of Taunton. Ernest’s true passion was farming his many acres of his family farmland in Somerset.
In addition to his wife of Somerset, he is survived by his children: Ernest E. Nunes Jr. of RI, Alicia Nunes of Somerset, Frank Nunes of Assonet, Dawn Nunes of Somerset, and Joseph Nunes (wife Sara) of Washington DC; five grandchildren: Madison, Reiley, Olivia, Ethan, and Mira; many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank, Edmund, Joseph, Gertrude, & Shirley Ann Nunes.
